Fire Boots

Firefighters need special fire boots to work in. Their boots have to protect them from a wide variety of things, including fire, glass, wood, metal, and rubble. A firefighter’s boots have to take a lot of abuse and keep going.

While some of the fire boots that are available look very similar to other boots that are on the market, there are often some key differences between them. Some of these boots have self-extinguishing materials on them such as Kevlar to protect the wearer against low flames. Most of them also have quick-ties on them so they can be laced up quickly.

Moisture barriers are common on fire boots, especially those that are meant to be worn by wilderness firefighters. There are also features that are being put on some that push moisture out of the boot and pull fresh air in with every step, helping the firefighter stay cool and have a good grip with their feet.
