Fred Burr
Firefighter Fred Burr was killed when the fire
truck he was riding on was struck by a car at 7th and Victory Street, at
12:05 p.m. on May 4th, 1960, and he was thrown off onto the pavement.
Ironically he was responding to fight a fire at the same house in which
firefighter Assman Died (1787-7th Ave).
Fred served as a firefighter with the Prince
George Fire Department as a full time firefighter and was also one of
the first full time uniformed members. At the time of his death he was
a Lieutenant in the Department.
